It is official! As one of the very first startups in Germany, we have successfully transitioned the EXIST startup scholarship into the 2nd funding phase.
What does this mean for us and the AI sector in general?
First, we have access to an additional 240,000 EUR in capital, with a funding rate of 75%. These funds represent a decisive milestone for AI startups in Germany.
But what is behind it?
Normally, only teams from the EXIST Research Transfer are eligible for a second EXIST funding phase.
However, the German federal government has broken new ground and launched a pilot program specifically targeting AI startups.
Why this pilot program?
- EXIST startup scholarships prove to be more economically successful
- They create more jobs compared to research transfer teams
- Germany has catching up to do in AI to remain competitive
